Members of the DIPP “Science goes to school” Project felt very honored to be invited to the New Year’s reception of the Saxon prime minister, Stanislaw Tillich, on 16 January 2017. This year's motto “Junge Sachsen. Neue Meister” brought young people from various areas and backgrounds together in a festive event at the Festspielhaus Hellerau. The evening’s program helped introduce the exceptional skills, projects, and achievements of young people living in the region to a broader audience.

The “Science Goes to School” project involves a multicultural group of PhD Students from the Dresden International PhD Program (DIPP). They offer workshops with engaging, hands-on biological experiments at Dresden schools. The sessions – held in English – convey to Saxon students how exciting science can be. The workshops also simultaneously strive to foster a culture of tolerance and respect for people from different cultural backgrounds.
